Free dvd burn software for mac pro

I have no issue paying for something (I'd prefer nothing super expensive) but I want to know if other people actually use it and if it will work well for my needs. When I search google for the issue, all I find is those fake lists of apps which are usually made by the software company that sells them. The issue I have with it is it seems to convert videos to a really specific mpg file which must use some specific bitrate or something, because when I try to lower the file sizes by converting them to mpg in VLC they freeze up the app. The app works but the themes are ugly, which is whatever I guess.

And yes DVDs are obsolete, but I had people asking me for some so take it up with them haha. I need to burn lots of DVDs to convert some peoples home movies so iDVD is out.
